Square red clay tile with raised medieval-style inscriptions and floral motifs. The tile has a matte, aged surface with dark brown patina consistent with its age. Minor dings and wear present, with no visible cracks or repairs. The inscriptions include stylized letters surrounding a central floral emblem. The tile displays artisanal craftsmanship typical of early 20th century Moravian pottery.

Rare 1901 Moravian Pottery Tile - Castle Acre Series

are early 20th century red clay tile from Moravian Pottery and Tile Works, circa 1901. This 3.5&#34; square tile is part of the Castle Acre series, inspired by medieval European floor tiles and designed by Henry Chapman Mercer.
Tiles from this series were used in the original floor installations of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, with Gardner herself collaborating on the design during the museum&#39;s construction (1899–1902).
Patina consistent with age. No visible cracks or repairs some minor dings commensurate to age and use. Please see photos for condition.
