Nice original colour example of Ortelius&#39; map of America.
Ortelius&#39; map of America is without doubt one of the most recognized and influential maps of America from the 16th Century. The map first appeared in the 1570 edition of Ortelius&#39; Theatrum Orbis Terrarum. It went through three major revisions, as noted in Van Den Broecke. This is state two, which is identical to state one, exept for the correction to the Azores (Canary Islands in state 1).
The map is one of the most influential maps of the 16th and early 17th Centuries, having had a profound impact on contemporary American Cartography. Ortelius&#39;s ability to locate and draw upon Spanish and Portuguese sources is apparent throughout the map and is quite remarkable, given the manner in which each nation guarded its cartographic information. From the 1584 Latin edition of Ortelius&#39; Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, the first modern atlas of the World.

FABULOUSLY designed MURANO art glass. Unique cased cobalt blue in the style associated with the design house of Archimede Seguso by the artist Flavio Poli. There is no tag on this item, although it bears a resemblance to pieces by the famous designer. The layers appear as outside clear glass, cobalt blue, then bubbles of different sizes, and a clear outside layer with clear glass folds. Fantastic decorative piece in a RARE COBALT BLUE colour. In very good condition with minor surface scratches on the underside of the base, consistent with the age of the piece.

Fantastic pair of vintage impressionist abstract still life oil - acrylic paintings. This oil painting features organic colours rendered in expressive white and brown strokes with heavy impasto textures. 
This painting has raised knife and brush strokes in the impressionistic style. The piece is signed in the lower right corner, &#34;Stephen Kaye,&#34; and rests in a beige lacquered wood frame.
Listed artist Stephen Kaye is known primarily for producing large-scale oil paintings depicting abstracted floral still life and landscapes, but little else is known about the mysterious artist. c.1980&#39;s.
A hanging wire is attached to the reverse side.
