Settle in, sit back, and soak up some mid-Century sunshine! Here are a pair of original Artifort Orange Slice Chairs designed by Pierre Paulin with their distinctive nubby upholstery, and metal tags attached to both chairs and matching footstools. Two identical &#34;slices&#34; make up the seat and backrest of each chair.
The 4-legged steel base on each piece is finished in chrome. All pieces labeled.  Note: minor wear and fading to one chair and stool. 
In 1958 Pierre Paulin became the designer for Artifort where he created a series of sculptural chairs with an inner structure of steel tubing, covered in foam and fabric. Designed and introduced in 1960, these chairs continue to command prominence in the MCM furnishing realm, and are sought out world-wide for their whimsical originality.

Ariens  254 Deluxe Snowblower

An impressive bronze rendition of the sculpture titled The Kiss (Le Baiser) or Nymph and Faun, created by the French sculptor Aime-Jules Dalou between 1890 and 1894, this one signed A. Carrier. Inspired by ancient mythology, depicting a faun embracing and kissing a nymph - a moment of intimacy and desire, blurring the boundaries between the mythological figures. It is known from several editions cast in bronze. The original plaster version is housed in the Petit Palais in Paris. 
Note the signature: French sculptor Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse (A. Carrier) used two primary signatures for his work, with the signature changing over the course of his career: Before 1868: He signed his work simply as &#34;Carrier&#34; or &#34;A. Carrier&#34;, as noted on this piece, matching the capitalized script found on his other sold items.  (see pictures)

According to artnet, Albert Ernest Carrier-Belleuse was a French sculptor who had a considerable artistic impact on many young artists, most notably Auguste Rodin, 
who created the iconic, entwined couple The Kiss (Le Baiser), with first small versions in the 1880s, and the monumental marble commissioned in 1888, executed by Jean Turcan.

Albert Ernest Carrier-Belleuse was known for his Neoclassical, realist terra cotta sculptures frequently depicting women in historic roles. Born on June 12, 1824 in Anizy-le-Château, France, Carrier-Belleuse trained as a goldsmith&#39;s apprentice before attending the École des Beaux-Arts and working for the medallist David d’Angers. Working between England, Brussels, and Paris, the artist founded the Parisian Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, and is notable for employing celebrated Modernist Auguste Rodin as his apprentice. Before his death on June 4, 1887 in Sevres, France, Carrier-Belleuse was awarded the title of officer of the Legion of Honour.  He began his career at 13 with an apprenticeship under Bauchery, a Parisian ciseleur, or chiseler. He began to receive accolades for his fine art sculptures after 10 years of showing his works. Among Albert Ernest Carrier Belleuse&#39;s sculptures and artwork for sale that received critical acclaim is the Messiah, which earned him a Medal of Honor and the cross of the Legion d&#39;Honneur.

Carrier Belleuse was entrepreneurial and often sold his sculptures directly through auctions and his own studio. He was instrumental in elevating the stature of applied arts and noted for his ornamental art designs. This work appears in good condition with the exception of small spattered wax drops, easily removable. Base appears to be marble or granite w/steel rod armature.

The Kiss

Beautifully crafted globes from Kalifano feature semi-precious inlaid stone, with 24K gold-plated brass latitude and longitude lines. The larger globe has seas of lapis, while the smaller globe&#39;s oceans are opalite, a synthetic gemstone composed of synthetic opal and moonstone. Mother-of-pearl, turquoise, jasper, aventurine, and other hard stones represent the countries. The larger globe has a brushed antique silver stand, with a compass at the meeting of the tri-part footed legs; the smaller globe has a pedestal stand in gold metal. The K logo is found on the base of the smaller globe , and below the 45 degree latitude line on the larger (not shown). Tape residue on the smaller globe, as shown. Clean with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth; do not use cleaning products.

Hand-knotted Iranian Rug 

Simple cabinet with striking quartersawn oak grain. A single drawer at the top has two original wooden knobs, dovetail finish. The Iron Clipper ship &#34; CORNWALLIS&#34; Color Lithograph 

Exceptional detailed imagery and workmanship on this Satsuma fishbowl, with plenty of gilding and fine raised slip. Alternate panels adorn each half - on one, two women attend to a younger woman, all in ceremonial garb, perhaps readying for a wedding?  They stand amid a lush landscape of cherry blossoms in full bloom and under a large jade-colored parasol.  The iconic Japanese mountains and sea frame the backdrop. Two other men stand off to the side, looking on, also in extreme finery.  The &#34;back&#34; panel is bordered by a gold ribbon and features multitudes of flowers, mostly lotus and chrysanthemums, swirling through a blue-black background.  This pattern continues on the upper lip of the bowl.  Underside of the pronounced rim is a decorative geometric pattern. Interior of the bowl has images of Koi swimming happily through underwater vegetation.  Note: Shadowy discoloration to one area of inner bowl.  Offered here with an 8&#34;W Chinese rosewood plant stand. Small glazed blue  &#34;N&#34; on the base probably indicates it&#39;s exportware from Nippon.

Cloisonne, Enamelware, Etc. 

Stripped bare to reveal a fine oak grain, this five drawer dresser on castors boasts some great late 19th C detailing including Mission-style side paneling and curved side molding, layered upper molding and top, and &#34;pin and cove&#34; dovetails (also called Knapp joints), popular roughly from 1870 to 1900, as they were the first widely mechanized drawer joint. Five varied-sized (starting at 5&#34; D) drawers with flush mount locks (one missing) and key plates (two missing).  We&#39;re hoping to find the keys before pickup day! Ornate Gilded Wall Mirror

Highly detailed chi lin figures combine the head of a dragon with the body of a horse and the scales of a carp. Also known as kirin in Japanese mythology. The chi lin is found in Korean and Thai mythology, as well, and represents variously prosperity, long life, wisdom, and success, as well as a precursor to the appearance of powerful and benevolent leaders. Considered powerful singly but even more so as a male and female pair. This solid brass duo is decorated with red glass jewels on the saddles, with a few having gone missing over time.

Pair Brass Chi Lin Figures

A repro piece with MCM style. Long and low credenza rests on a frame base typical of Danish MCM pieces, and has a push-to-open door at either end. The central compartment is a garage door style that lifts up and out and then slides back into the cabinet, with a groove for your hand on the underside, and a port for wires at the back of the compartment. Hand-painted wood cherub has carved details and blue drape; plaster pieces finished in off-white with moulded curls and wings; resin angels feature gold accents, fabric gown, feather wings and built-in light components with base switches.

Wood, Plaster & Resin Angel Figurines

&#39;Tis the season for angels and cherubs, but they are also perfectly suitable year round. This lot includes a large painted wooden figure with flute, to hang, a couple of plaster flying cherubs, a plaster pair to place on a wall or bench where they can dangle those chubby cherub legs, and several resin and mixed materials light-up figures, with switches hidden on their bases.  We added one more resin and feather angel discovered later, not shown.
