This sterling silver box from 1917 has design elements that transition from the Art Nouveau to the early Art Deco period. Designed by Joseph and Richard Griffin in Chester, England, according to the British Hallmarks found stamped into different spots on the box. One leg appears to be slightly bent, and a few small dents are present.  The bottom plate lifts out and is unmarked. It stands approx. 2" tall, 5" wide, and 3.5" from front to back. The box weighs approx. 181.7g in total. This box would make a wonderful gift, or could serve as a classic gift box for a lucky individual this holiday season. Jewel Crest Brooch

This antique mechanical pencil is made of sterling silver, and was made in London England in 1924, according to its British Hallmarks, found in several places including body, cap, and pocket protector. The pencil comes in its original box, and includes extra leads, as well as instructions found underneath the felted pull-away panel.  The pencil has a blank polished oval for engraving for personalization if desired. The pencil twists to bring forth more lead, and is in working condition. The lid of the box has two seams which need attention, but is in otherwise condition. This would make a wonderful gift for an author, a banker, a judge, an accountant, a collector, a student, an illustrator, or anyone else that appreciates finer instruments.
