Hand Made Asian Inspired Jewelry box with Treasures

Up for grabs 2 solid Bronzes presented to Sergeant John Regan  1931 in Ottawa for the East and West Match and Empire match

Founded in 1868, the Dominion of Canada rifle Association was created to promote and encourage the training of marksmanship throughout Canada.

Did some research on Sergeant Regan, but did not come up with much, except for a bit of history of his rifleman skills

“Jack Regan made five Bisley Teams. He was crowned Canadian Fullbore Rifle Champion once, came second once and third once. He won our Grand Aggregate on one occasion and came second once.”

Some reference possibly to these two wins…”At Bisley, he won the Grand Aggregate in 1931. He made the King’s Prize Final three times and placed in the Top 50 of the Grand Aggregate twice.

Beautiful little well framed Collectible Antler Art by well know Albertan Artist Len Masse

about the artist...

Len Massé was born in 1949. After completing secondary school he attended the Chappel School of Art in New Westminster, British Columbia, where he studied art during the day and paid his tuition by cleaning the school at night. After graduation from art school, he embarked on a commercial art career that commenced in Los Angeles, USA. There, he worked in the music industry and created the very popular "doodle art" poster which sold millions of copies and still remains in circulation today.

In time, Len Massé moved to Canada's vast Northwest Territories, travelling extensively and reaching as far as the Arctic Ocean. It was there that he discovered the beauty and simplicity of Inuit Art. He liked the concept of using natural canvas - soapstone, ivory, and fur. This influenced him to trade his paper in for the more unique mediums of moose, elk, and deer antler. He uses pen, ink, and a palette tool to create his original etchings.

Living in Canada's far north and rural Alberta has given Len Massé a love for recreating Inuit art and Alberta's diverse variety of wildlife on antler".

About the artist: Born: 1932- Died: 2001

-Germaine Mauriaucourt Degenhardt was born in Vancouver, BC, Canada, in 1932, the daughter of a French father and an English mother. She traveled extensively with her parents throughout her childhood. Degenhardt attended Edmond&#39;s Street School and Burnaby South High before enrolling at the Vancouver School of Art. After spending two years at that school, she traveled to Paris where she worked as a textile designer. During this period she attended classes in engraving at the Ecole des Beaux Arts and in drawing at the Atelier de la Grande Chaumiere. After returning to Vancouver, Degenhardt became a printmaker. She learned silkscreen printing at tonge and ellam. In 1955 Degenhardt spent a summer at Skidegate, Queen Charlotte Islands, where she was inspired by the culture of the Northwest coast Indians. In her personal statement in an exhibit catalog published in 1995, Degenhardt noted that while in Sidegate she was &#34;adopted in the the Moody family (Haida carvers) and into the Raven and Wolf clans.&#34; She also received a Haida name, Kildago Jats, meaning &#34;woman of the mountains.&#34; It is reported that Degenhardt passed away ca. 2001. Degenhardt was particularly well known for her silkscreen prints featuring imagery of the Northwest coast Haida Indians. Her works were widely exhibited in Canada and the United States. The print by Degenhardt in the Fine Arts Collection was donated to Luther College by former President and Mrs. Elwin Farwell in 1983 and is part of the Elwin and Helen Farwell Collection.
